Kayla is my very best friend. Our husbands work together and became friends when they both ended up in Twentynine Palms together, Jeremy from Mcloud, OK, and Mark from Bethany, OK . Mark use to come over to our house when we were just newlyweds to eat dinner and visit. A year or so later we met Kayla for the first time. Jeremy and Mark were deployed to Iraq for ten months. A few weeks before Jeremy got back I moved back to our old house in Twentynine, I was so happy when I found out Kayla had moved too that I probably talked her ear off for hours. Since then we’ve been best friends. Kayla has no filter and makes me laugh till I cry every time I’m around her. Now she is having a baby, the very thing I warned her about for the last year!
To make the diaper cake pictured, you will need one package of swaddlers diapers, they come in a yellow pack, the double sided package is the one I got. Small goody elastic bands, big rubber bands, cardboard, pretty paper or doilies, fresh flowers, and toliet paper tubes 3. I think blue hydrengea would be great for little boy shower. Trace circles in the cardboard, I used a dinner plate, a salad plate, and a bowl to trace. Then cut out the circles. Start with the largest circle, glue one toliet paper tube to the center, I used hot glue. Then take the rolled diapers secured with small rubber bands and place them around the tube securing with one of the large rubber bands. I did three rows on the bottom, It may not look even at first, just push them around till they become a circle. Repeat for the next two tiers, the second has two rows, the top has one. Some cardboard will stick out, use your pretty paper or doilies to cover it, I just cut white velum paper into little leave shapes and glued them around the bottom before puting the diapers on. Assemble your cake, then pull ribbon aound the outside of the rows to cover the rubber bands, secure with tape in the back, be creative with this buy patterned ribbon or make up your own design like below. Then cut your roses to short stems and decorate, the topper will have an empty toilet paper roll in the center so just put your flowers in there and arrange them. Try not to use any glue or tape directly on the diapers, you want your mommy to be able to use these diapers in the future. When your finished your cake should be able to come apart in three pieces making it easy for travel. Get to your shower early and decorate with your flowers.

Craig tried to hide from the camera, but I got him…
